THE CANNABIS INDUSTRY RUNS ON
CONTENT.
In an industry where doing business is still considered illegal, finding quality ways to market your brand can be an uphill battle.
Traditional marketing methods like print advertising, video ads, and social media are out of the question thanks to state and federal regulations that prevent cannabis brands to operate as safe, regulated businesses. Most cannabis-industry brands are unable to market or advertise their products or services even if their home state is fully legal for recreational markets and their products have nothing to do with cultivating or using the plant itself.
With all of these roadblocks, many cannabis brands find themselves turning to content marketing to help them develop a steady audience of customers and brand evangelists. Content marketing is a long-term low-cost solution that allows cannabis brands to tell their stories in a more meaningful way. It provides a more direct approach with your customers and your audience, bringing the perfect people to your products or services at the perfect time.
Best of all, content marketing is the fuel for the rest of your cannabis marketing fire. While sticking to local laws and federal regulations, the content used to develop your content marketing plan can be repurposed for meaningful social posts, email campaigns, text advertisements, and community outreach.

ABOUT SLP SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGEMENT
My name is Nicole Flanigan. I am a 24-year-old cannabis content writer and editor based in Colorado Springs, Colorado. I'm currently doing business as SLP Social Media Management.
I started SLP Social Media Management in 2015. During that time, I was primarily crafting creative social media campaigns for small brands and businesses, including startups, restaurants, and bars.
In 2017, I began taking an interest in the cannabis industry. I moved to Colorado in 2016 and was shocked to see how many rules and regulations were in place for cannabis marketing. There was a deliberate need for highly effective content-driven marketing plans for these brands more than social media alone.
While I dabbled in social media, content is where I excel. In the cannabis industry, I act as a full-service marketing boutique. I'm great at building high-impact websites, writing engaging content for SEO, developing sales materials and graphics, and bringing all of these efforts together to develop memorable cannabis brands.
My goal is to help cannabis brands, content marketers, product marketers, and executives to tell stories, achieve an online presence, and build better brands that communicate with their users.
In my free time, I enjoy going to concerts, hiking all over Colorado with my two dogs, and gardening everything from organic cannabis to root vegetables. Feel free to get in touch with me any time to get started on a full-service campaign, or al-a-cart services like content writing or graphic design.

DESIGN
Sharp, eye-catching design is what separates the winners from the losers in this industry. Whether your company works directly with cannabis or just in the same vein, you need your brand to stand out against the competition in an increasingly saturated industry.
Design can mean many different things. Elements of design are used to create just about everything you put your name on, including social posts, profile pictures, email campaigns, packaging materials, sales materials, service documents, and so much more.
It's my job to make sure your business is not only being represented correctly through branding, but to tell your story through intelligent, data-based, and inspired design. For more samples of my design work, please get into contact with me directly.

SOCIAL MEDIA
30% of the time your customers spend online is spent liking, retweeting, snapping, and commenting. But reaching cannabis customers on social media is not too simple. Unlike most brands, businesses in the cannabis industry struggle to engage with their customers on social media because of community guidelines and terms of service put in place by social media giants like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
For the cannabis industry, many additional steps have to be taken to ensure that the posts you make won't get you flagged for removal.
Using a robust content-marketing foundation, I can develop strong, engaging social media profiles that connect with your customers where they already are. For more samples of my social work, please get into contact with me directly.
